For anyone who hosts PB4a, there is a player who has taken to impersonating me.  If a player enters with the name "vsmit" (note, lowercase), confirm that it's me playing or be wary of what they do.

If he's impersonating you and we ask him 'is that you?' he'll say yes, anything in particular we need to ask?

My MSN name is public, and my bzu jabber is active, so just message me and ask if I'm in game.  An easy way to tell is whether or not the person uses correct grammar.

Is he doing anything detrimental to your name? I.e. is he joining as you specifically and making a mess of things?

It could very well be that they just chose that usename of their own accord out of some random longshot coincidence, and VSMIT to you could mean something totally different to what vsmit means to this guy.

The fake-vsmit seems to be 'batts' or 'stone_cold_killa' (or the like), connecting from *.gci.net. He's been in and out of the BZ2 irc lobby for weeks, usually begging for people to host games for him. A few days ago, he started entering under other people's nicknames, as if that would give him a better response. He was warned to stop that, but he continued his misbehavior. That earned him a banning from the channel.

He seemed kinda insecure about himself ..... that gave it away :D

edit: do note, he doesnt seem to do anything wrong to me, there are others though .... :s

I heard from another player that he acted against the team at times.  He may not do it every time, which is why I said "be wary" instead of saying, "Kickban him."

Batt's came from 1.1. I taught him a few things there. He's very quiet as a player, but never caused huge problems. I think he just wants to get accepted (which is odd because 1.3 is a MUCH more accepting community than 1.2 is).

Most people are when they percieve they are getting attacked, even if it is deserved or not. Too bad he has to learn the hard way, but such is life eh?

I was helping another player in the IRC channel, he came in and did practically all he could to annoy us.  I think that's when he started taking other names.  Didn't take mine, but the player I was helping.

Get his IP and post it here, its easilly added to GamePrefs.ini (though I'm not sure if it really works as I banned 'Zachary' from my games and he was able to join last saturday, or he had a change of IP-adress)
