Hahah, I used to spend a lot of time in Devon when I was younger. We went every year on holiday around the Woolacomb (spelling?) area. We always used to go to the Ruda caravan park in Croyd Bay. Loved it. Clotted cream ice creams :D

So in all, you guys are pretty *Ammo*ed up, aye?
I have a burning hatred of the media, and thus, am not going into it because I will be here all day, and I'm meant to be doing my work.

Well we disagree too, but it doesn't result in something resembling a *Ammo*ing typhoon.

Anyway, I'm off to bed, long-ass day with airports ad its 01:25 am

What the hell is it with this Republican - Democrat - Liberal crap anyway? Yeah, we have a bit of bickering over here with the Torys, Labour and that but you guys are practically at bloody war!
I keep hearing everyone go on and on and ON about evolution, religion all this 'pro___' stuff. I don't know anything about what you're all bitching about, but from what I can see its pretty screwed up. Seriously? Damn people, slightly over the top?

Heh that just reminded me. I was once told that Republicans put boxing gloves on their kids at night so they couldn't 'touch themselves' in bed.
I didn't believe it but I still laughed (and cringed) at the thought.

Ooooh right. Well we've got at least 3 different shows all portraying the same idiocy. As does every country. pretty much. I enjoy them though; a lot of them are hilarious. Some of the stuff some people manage to do... boggles the mind

I wouldn't know, I'm not American. All I see is him making a dumbass of himself every time he opens his mouth. You can't help but hate that. And I haven't seen anything of Obama. Which is surprising actually, I was expecting to never hear the last of your government.

AFV?

Oh, as for the world hating America, it isn't because of your government and never was. Its the stereotypes again. Because everybody simply believes that when they see a radical example, the entire country is the same. True for anywhere you go. Unfortunately, America has gained a lot of particularly bad ones.

Nobody has figured out a way that bloody works yet. They all suck in some respect, you gotta find the one that sucks least...

Good movies? Surely something that went through Hollywood is good? Maybe?

Said stereotype is decades old.
The majority of the world has also hated America for decades. Nothing new there. Your'e just aware of it now. Granted, they play(ed) nice to your face
And if anything, people hate you less now that *Ammo*wad Bush isn't in charge. Why the bollocking hell did you lot vote that prick in again?
Then again, we voted Labour back in... Egh...

Lmao, whoops he's an Auzzie. Oh well.

I'm quite good at accents, ish. Well, the ones I can do, I can do well. Others; kinda hopeless. People aaaaalways think that everyone in the UK speaks in a certain way which is actually really annoying and ignorant. We all know that America has different accents, so why is it presumed that every British person speaks like prince-freakin'-Charles? Every city has its own damn accent, all VERY different. I can do about 4-5, plus other countries.

PS, I really don't mind if this goes off topic. I like to think of this thread as a chat thread :)

Britain held Cyprus for ages, then gave it back to Greece. Turks got pissed and invaded their greasy asses there around the 70's or something. Now, the southern half is Greek, northern is Turkish.
North = bad. South = good.

Well yes, I meant discuss Cyprus. And of course, you could only do that it you have BEEN!

Forgive the stereotype, but what is it with you Americans and not knowing where anything is if its outside your own borders?

Iron Maiden is right.

Yes, food is always a good thing to talk about. Their food is good for that matter.

Oh yes, it does mean I can do things with them. The package server, for one, allows full access rights. Thats the installers to all of the school's software.
I also have access to every single user area on the network. Its actually quite handy when my friend wants to send me a file or something - because exchange is down most of the time I can just nip into his area and take it. I'd never mess with anyones files though, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I replaced the default desktop once just as a laugh. Just replace the file deep in the NETLOGON thingy-ma-jig. Though after I did that they fixed it and you can't write files to that directory anymore. Why just that directory I will never know, the rest of the server is still open :S

I'm on VNC at the moment, in ICT.

To access the toot at mine, type in your address bar: \\ and you get the folder with every server the school has. \\long1 is the package server.
Being on  a mac, I get them all down the left hand side of my finder window anyway.

I can crash my school's server in 5 seconds flat. Its hilarious.

Yup, forgot about that one; 'its got nothing to do with us, email EMBC'
Uhhh, yes, it does. It says "LOCAL LIST" in huge capital letters on the filter page, which means that YOU set that one, not EMBC.

I use my computer at home with VNC/RDC or as a full-blown proxy. Unfortunately, I can only go with VNC as I did a reformat recently and haven't set up the proxy again. I seem to remember it being a ballache so I haven't tried since.

Theres a website that makes a new proxy every 7 days with vague domain names. Sign up to the site and you receive emails from them each time.
http://peacefire.org/

My college's security is a joke. I can easily get on an administrator account and gan access to SIMS. However, they block so many things by word include filters.
eg, I couldn't research 'alpha particle scattering' last year because it contained the phrase 'scat' and you cannot get on any forums at all; anything with 'forum' is blocked. That includes help forums or subject-related boards.

The IT department is a freaking joke. Seriously.
The servers are forever crashing, random machines just break, there was 4 major virus outbreaks in the last 2 months that crippled the entire system and infected any other machine connected to the network (lol, macbook pro.) They finally got it fixed after 3 days, but some dumbass teacher decided that they didn't need to get their laptop scanned, bought it back in after the weekend and sure enough, same virus again.
The IT teachers don't know what they're talking about 80% of the time, the 'technicians' may as well work at the PC World helpdesk or the Genius bar in the Apple Store for all the use they are.
We're told to use USB sticks for convenience and backing up, but 80% of the computers require an administrator password when you plug on in, which none of the teachers know of course.
We're now forced to change out password every 4 weeks, and it can't be the same as any previous one. My memory is bad enough, yet alone the 14 year olds in the school.
We have printing credits, basically we pay 2p per black and white page, 20p colour. Fair enough, prevents waste, but the printers regularly don't print, but the system still charges you. Printing out your 20+ page project in colour, and having the bastard thing charge you isn't funny.

I could go on, but the oven is beeping with my dinner.
