MPI Stage points (problem or Bug)??

I have be mucking about with a few MPI maps.  And have come up with an anoying problem.

It seems the more stage path points you add to the map the more it kills the game play.   When the AIP sends out an Attacker plan the ships go to a random stage point 1st.  There they drop one or 2 ships off and the rest go on and attack.  The more stage points the more ships that just sit at the stage point until they become full and game play becomes more normal instead of being dead.

Now this happens at the begining of the game, where sometimes you are just hanging on to survie.

So ok you rewrite the AIP for a map of say 9 stage points to account for this problem to get a steady stream of attackers.  Then you go and play it on a map with just 3 stage points and you get absolutly cained.

Needs to be some sort of fix for this other wise AIP's are going to have to become very map sepcific.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix. (don't say the dll cause I can't write them)

One super cool affect though is that at different times in the game you'll get 10 or 12 ships attack your base all at once awesome fun  then you have another lull,  eheh which you need to recover.

Cheers
