weapon linking enables you to fire more than one weapon at once using the Shift key. just hold shift, right click and fire. you can have as many weapons as you want linked together.

dont bother with the Pentium three option, i got rid of it in my mods shell, useless for systems without one.

Actually I read that it was a code optimization for ANY Intel processor above Pentium 3, which I think encompasses the Core series too, GSH would be able to correct me on that if I am wrong.

I havent really checked to see if there was a difference between having optimization on or off, but there may be one.

Then your current mode causes pink. Choose the other one and notice it is not flashing pink at any time.
