Battlezone 1 Patch Board / Re: Experimental Build

Oh, I forgot to mention that it needs the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package.  I'll update the first message with that link.

After installing Visual C++ I get the same DEP issue on both Vista and 7. Is there a way to force DEP off for bzone.exe? On this new exe is on by default and I can't turn it off, like I would normally do.

Quote1. No posting links or asking about piracy. This includes No-CD hacks, links to the full BZ1 installer and what not. We got introuble for this once already, don't do it again.

I didn't post link to the full BZ1 installer, I posted link to a website. It was said that's allowed and now you say it isn't. Double standards or you admins don't work well together?

Available for purchase? Show me where, I wanna buy it.

Battlezone 1 / Re: Bz Servers

http://battlezone1.freeforums.org/new-bz-server-is-up-battlezone1-net-t518.html

Someone heard about our problems and decided to give us a clean Bz server, with no banning of fair players, with no hacked BzE rooms, with no changing of default room, with no kicking players from the lobby etc.

He/she wants to stay anonymous, so you can't express your direct gratitude, but whatever you say there (on a given link) it will be read :P

Server's name is "battlezone1.net" and it's associated with www.battlezone1.net webpage. For now it offers only status page http://www.battlezone1.net/Battlezone_1.4.html and downloads section http://www.battlezone1.net/downloads/ (only new servers.dat in it ATM). In the near future it will host new Bz installer and other useful Bz things... Bz1 forum will move there too... We'll make a whole new site dedicated to Bz...

Server reboots every day at 11 am GMT 0, so keep that in mind when being on the server around that time. To be able to see it, download the latest servers.dat zip file and put it in your main Bz folder, overwriting old one.

See you there!

Battlezone 2 / Re: AntilagXP ?
November 16, 2008, 07:59:02 AM
AntilagXP is a wrong (read: fake) name for Windows NT (2K/XP/Vista) fix for Battlezone 1.

What that installer actually does is install "winets2.dll" into your ...Battlezone\dll folder, overwriting old "winets2.dll", which was for Windows 95/98/Me. It doesn't remove or reduce lag like the name is falsely suggesting.

Besides replacing ".dll" you also need to delete vehicle's avi's in ...Battlezone\anims folder, cause they don't work (they give UE) in Multiplayer under Windows NT.

Servers.dat updates automatically only if you see at least 1 server when selecting Multiplayer - Internet. You have to join that server and go back to servers selection. Then you will see 2nd server. After you visit it and go back, 3rd will appear...

To avoid that long process of updating (which sometimes fails), I suggest downloading of already updated "servers.dat".

Battlezone 1 / Bz Servers
November 09, 2008, 02:38:48 PM
I can't reply to No Servers thread anymore, so it would be nice if one of the admins/moderators could add this post to that thread or just a link from there here, to avoid confusion for the new players.

Bz recently got new server, BZF, which requires new "servers.dat".

The problem is, old server, 911, doesn't contain new server in its "servers.dat" available for download (the only link posted on "No Servers" thread), while BZF's "servers.dat" contains all servers.

Even though "servers.dat" updates automatically on Win98/Me/2K/XP, some reported that it doesn't on Vista, so you have to do it manually. Since we all moved to the new server (BZF), if auto update doesn't succeed, the one who updates "servers.dat" manually from 911 page might give up on Bz when seeing no one there.

*Note-after a complaint about the following link I've edited it to the Site that the Servers.Dat is hosted on, rather than to a forum about the file that caused the complaint.  -Av-*

Go Here for more information and links.  Until then, all should use "servers.dat" from here.

Thank you,

Mr. Spock

It's already distributed, in reaper's mod.

Reaper, you forgot to say that you already have the fix, which doesn't give MVM to the original game, and that you're refusing to share it with us, because Tug, selfish guy who made the fix (with the code you gave to him), doesn't allow it.

TheJamsh,

I won't tell you to re-read what's said here once again, because I know you already did that 10 times, and you still don't understand what's going on. That's pretty clear form your posts in which you are asking yourself that question over and over.

Sorry pal, but there's no help for you.

Quote from: Feared_1 on October 07, 2008, 03:21:45 PMMr. Spock, why are you (a BZ1 player) coming to this particular forum (a BZ2 forum - hence the name "Battlezone II"), to tell on someone (a BZ1 player) who removed a few links that can easily be added back in?

I posted simple information about Bz2 on Bz2 Forum. Whether I play Bz1, Bz2, both games or none, it doesn't matter. If you don't like me posting on these boards, you can delete my account right away. I could care less.

You can easily add those links back?! ROFL. You should have read my first post and my reply to Steeveeo with understanding, before addressing anything to me. Well, too late now, but be sure to do it next time. ;)

Or moderators/admins could just remove your posts which now, beside being off topic, contain lies too (no wonder, when master liar Dx is your pal), so adults could continue with the Wikipedia discussion without your flames.
