1.3 problems

Hey....im having some problems with 1.3  i'll tell you what my situation is.  i installed reg battlezone 2 and then i got 1.2 and then i got the fe full install and then i got starfleet and then got mod manager 5.  i tried installing 1.3 and it said installed sucesfully but then when i went into regular battlezone it worked and then i went into fe and it cut out. i didnt try starfleet. So i uninstaled 1.3, fe and starfleet and modmanager and started over.  so i got fe.starfleet,modmanager5, and installed 1.2 again.  now when i went into mod manger i said 1.3 was there and when i went to an instant it had all of the 1.3 maps but i couldnt get in thme or anything. it also didnt have the race pick and all.  so i tried gettin 1.3 again and installing it but when i tried to install it it said uhoh there was a problem or something and it recommended that i uninstall battlezone and remove everything in the directory and try aginan. what should i do? should i uninstall everything and start from scratch? or should i do that and download and install certain tings in certain order or what? please help!

also i am running under xp home edition and i when i try to go to multi it just sits at scanning for sessions and the the norton risk window pops up and i have tog et out and permit it to use the internet and when i go back in it just wont work.  is there some way and can fix this and play in multi?\

please read what the message tell you when you install. FE and almost all other mods are not compatable with 1.3 it is not recommanded you install both at the same time.

Patches are being made for them, and a new SF is coming out later on, it will contain many new features.

ok thx guys so i will just stick with 1.2 for now until the patches come out for fe. i guess i cant play battlezone with 1.3 and fe with 1.2 at the same time.  now if sf isnt compatible with 1.3 and only with 1.2 does that mean when 0.8 comes out and the patch for fe is out mean that i install 1.3 and then the patch for fe and then 0.8 after that?

You just need to create a different directory to install your 1.3 version of bzii to, which is what the installer suggests when you start it up.

ok so if i still want to run fe and sf but want 1.3 in regular battlezone 2 what directory should i install the 1.3 to so it doesnt affect fe or sf

and also i had to reinstall bz2 and all of my missions were erased and im redoing them now but i dont want to have to go through them all.  The cheat for skipping a mission i believe after you hit "ctrl ~" is simply just "ai.winmission" i tried that like 5 times and it didnt do anything.  what should i do?

Just create your own directory for the bz1.3 install. When it shows the regular default directory,click on browse and tyoe in another title. i.e. BZII_1.3 or some such.

The cheat for winning missions is game.cheat bzwinner

It would probably be best if you didn't use a "." in the file path. I believe both myself and GreenHeart had problems while saving maps with that in the path. Not really sure how the game itself would react.

With 1.3, that "." in the path/filename bug has been fixed.

Thx for pointing that out OM. I've had no issues yet with naming it like I had posted,but it's nice to know the bug was fixed.

so when i download it again i should just creat a new file in the battlezone folder and it just be something like "bz21.3" or something and all the features of 1.3 will be in bz2 and wont affect fe and sf still running on 1.2?

Nah, you prolly want to install ver 1.3 into a different Battlezone II install. FE wont work because some of its shell files dont play well with the 1.3 files.

I think the FE team will be working on a patch for this when 1.3 is final.

No. As ZA pointed out ,create a whole new folder- I think the default it will show is programfiles>battlezone II. Change that to programfiles>BZII or some such. Then you'll end up with two battlezone files and two shortcuts. I think another location will be asked for, remember to direct it to your new folder.
